Child and adolescent psychotherapy.

I have more than 20 years of experience providing services to children experiencing developmental, emotional, social and behavioral challenges. Often these children are struggling to cope with overwhelming change and loss, traumas, disruptions, illness and addiction in their family, as well as developmental or neuro-biological challenges.

I provide developmentally-based and trauma-informed services to ages 2 to 12 years, utilizing play-based and expressive therapies, family therapy, parent coaching, interpersonal therapy as well as traditional cognitive and behavioral interventions. I will help your child learn to express, understand and manage their feelings, thoughts and behaviors in ways that will enhance their self-confidence, improve communication skills and relationships as well as school performance. Additionally, I work closely with parents to understand their child’s challenges and needs in a way that promotes their parenting skills, empathy and attachment as well as advocacy for their child in school and life in general.

We will work together on helping your child feel supported and understood so that they can process their losses, traumas and overwhelming experiences in ways that will build resilience and mastery.

“I love working with kids. It’s often hard to articulate how I  find the right path forward, but when I do and parents tell me “Oh, thank goodness,” it makes my work so worth it”
