Compassionate. Skilled. Collaborative.
I am a Licensed Psychologist in Longmont, Colorado where I have been practicing since 2000. I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology with a Child and Family emphasis in 1997 from the California School of Professional Psychology.
My therapeutic style is to listen in a way that bonds my expertise with compassion, curiosity, cultural sensitivity, intuition and optimism. I will skillfully encourage you to connect to your thoughts, feelings, and body, in ways that will help you access your innate wisdom and strengths, identify your needs and desires, alleviate emotional and psychological distress, build healthier relationships and resilience. We will work collaboratively, at your pace, toward your short-term or longer-term goals.

Over the years, my therapeutic and diagnostic services have extended into hospital, educational and outpatient settings. Since 2003, I have worked as a Licensed Psychologist in multiple behavioral health departments within the University of Colorado Health system. Currently, I provide Inpatient Psychiatric Consultations on the medical floors and emergency departments of multiple hospitals in the Northern region of University of Colorado Health.

Helping children is my passion.
I have more than 20 years of experience providing services to children and adolescents experiencing developmental, emotional, social and behavioral challenges. Often these children are struggling to cope with overwhelming change and loss, traumas, disruptions, illness and addiction in their family, as well as developmental or neuro-biological challenges. I provide developmentally-based and trauma-informed services to ages 2 to 12 years, utilizing play-based and expressive therapies, family therapy, parent coaching, interpersonal therapy as well as traditional cognitive and behavioral interventions. I will help your child learn to express, understand and manage their feelings, thoughts and behaviors in ways that will enhance their self-confidence, improve communication skills and relationships as well as school performance. Additionally, I work closely with parents to understand their child’s challenges and needs in a way that promotes their parenting skills, empathy and attachment as well as advocacy for their child in school and life in general. We will work together on helping your child feel supported and understood so that they can process their losses, traumas and overwhelming experiences in ways that will build resilience and mastery.

Helping adults overcome challenges.
Additionally, I have extensive training and experience treating adults determined to overcome mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, family conflict and relationship challenges, chronic shame, self-loathing and self-injury, trauma, as well as grief that comes with losses of functioning, relationships, life purpose and meaning. My approach will incorporate traditional cognitive-behavioral methods, with existential/meaning-making strategies, trauma-based interventions (EMDR, somatic resourcing, trauma-focused CBT, DBT) as well as relationship interventions designed to improve communication, boundaries, safety and emotional connections.
